Updating a Frame with Duck Tape

Updating a Frame with Duck Tape
This is the second month that I am participating in "Project Challenge". Each month our small group of bloggers will have to come up with an item that fits the theme. This month the item to use was "Duck Tape" or "HVAC Tape". My first challenge was to find duct tape that I liked and then to come up with a project for it...

I lucked out when I was at Hobby Lobby one day and found some duct tape that I liked in the clearance section.

This is the frame that I envisioned for the transformation. I don't even remember where I got it, but the ridges and burlap where not something I wanted to attempt painting. I figured I would give the duct tape a try. The tape was not wide enough to cover completely so I decided to keep part of the wood of the frame visible and started with the green plaid burlap.

Then to add more interest I tried to figure out what else I could do and I decided on the brown plaid duct tape at an angle on the edges. I love how it all looks as a whole.

The frame had no glass, so I plan to cut out a piece of thin wood to paint on this saying and hanging it somewhere where I can see it every day.

For more inspiration, make sure to check out what my creative blogging friends have come up with for this month's "Duct Tape, HVAC Tape" challenge...

Blessings,
Lucy.
