The homes are located in the exclusive Kings Chapel community in Arrington, TN.
This was my first blogger meet up and I was so excited and nervous because I didn't know anyone. I knew that there were going to be a few well known bloggers and was especially looking forward to meeting KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms. Each home had a blogger decorate a Christmas tree based on a theme chosen by 4 children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Kirklands supplied the bloggers with the decorations for the trees.
Unfortunately, even though I made sure to charge my camera battery in anticipation for the event, I actually forgot to load it into my camera before leaving that morning for my 2 hour trip! Luckily, I was rescued...I am so grateful to Candice of She's Crafty for being my official photographer for the event. She was a great sport and had to put up with my "ooos" and "aahhs" and "did you see that?" every five minutes.
So without further ado, here are a few photos of my favorite homes...
This is what it looked like on the outside. Dreamy French Chateau style...
This was the first room to the right of the entrance.
I was in love with the wall treatment, having done faux finishes in my younger years, it was truly dramatic and inspiring. And the decor throughout was elegant, understated and unique.
The ceiling in the dining area was pretty amazing also.
The elegant Master Bedroom.
I'm not exactly sure what kind of wood was used in the ceiling of the Master Bedroom, but some kind of reclaimed wood. Isn't it stunning? Love the contrast with the elegant chandelier.
The casually chic Bar area...
Love the use of chicken wire on the outside of this bar.
The connecting Hallway features rustic charm...
Beautiful sliding doors that led to the family room where KariAnne and a circus themed Christmas tree awaited us.
Hostess 1: KariAnne, Thistlewood Farms
And here is KariAnne from Thistlewood Farms in front of the tree that she decorated. She was so down to earth and such a hoot! I really enjoyed meeting her!
Hostess 2: Lesley, Chaotically Creative
This is Lesley from Chaotically Creative. She decorated a super model themed tree.
Hostess 3: Kristie, The Decorologist
This is Kristie, blogger at the Decorologist. She was asked to decorate a "Greek" inspired Christmas tree.
Hostess 4: Jenna, Rain on a Tin Roof
And last but not least is Jenna from Rain on a Tin Roof with her "Emmy" themed Christmas tree.
The trees will be part of a silent auction benefiting Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee. What a great cause to be involved in!
So this is the end of the show, but if you will be in the Nashville area up until December 21st, you will be able to see them for yourselves! For more information check out Kings Chapel.
Wasn't it inspiring! And you know what one of my favorite parts was? When the 4 featured bloggers were asked to get up and say a few words and I realized how even they struggle with public speaking and are ordinary people just like you and me! Sure glad I didn't have to get up and talk though! LOL!
A big thank you to our hosts Dana and Nancy of Forest Home Media for a wonderful afternoon and some superstar treatment!
Great recap Lucy! I agree that it was a treat to realize that big-time bloggers are really just real people.... Like us! They were all so friendly and fun to meet! I loved meeting you and discovering a fellow Canadian home blogger living in the south :-)
